Mechanical pipe is used where stainless steel tubing functions as a fabricated component rather than a primary fluid line. Typical purchasing priorities include dimensional consistency, machinability, weldability, and surface appearance.

Manufacturing Notes

The pipe can be supplied in standard lengths or prepared to drawings. Reference data supplied by JZ lists round, square, and rectangular mechanical tube ranges and multiple inspection options including mechanical performance, eddy current, pressure, tensile, expanding, chemical composition, intergranular corrosion, and stress corrosion tests. Secondary processing may include cutting, bending, drilling, or end forming depending on the part design.

Buying Considerations

Provide the target use, loading environment, mating parts, and post-processing steps. For visible assemblies, also define the required surface finish and packaging method to reduce handling marks.

For 304 / 304L mechanical pipe, confirm whether the order is driven by appearance, weldability, machining, or corrosion resistance. The final acceptance should follow the ordered standard, drawing tolerance, and downstream fabrication process.

RFQ Checklist

Send material grade, round or profile size, wall thickness, length, finish, fabrication steps, drawing or cut list, inspection requirement, packaging, and quantity. If the pipe will be drilled, bent, cut to length, or assembled into a visible structure, include the mating dimensions and appearance expectations before quotation.
